Shubhi Mishra was my go-to marketing person in New Delhi, who also branched into commodity analysis to bolster her market research. She has the intellect, drive, and energy to take on any task. I expanded her responsibilities to include Sri Lanka as well as all of India, and recommend her highly for any job requiring brains, enthusiasm, and devotion to achieving results. She is not afraid to speak truth to power, and that coupled with her sense of humor made her a highly valued member of my team.

During the time I supervised Ms. Mishra, she consistently demonstrated the highest degree of professionalism, attention to detail, initiative, and good judgment. She was widely respected by her peers, senior U.S. and Indian government officials, and our array of commercial stakeholders in India and the United States. She was regularly called upon to advise senior embassy officials on opportunities and challenges for U.S. food and agricultural trade to India and Sri Lanka.

Ms. Mishra excelled at managing interpersonal relationships with critical Indian, Sri Lankan, and U.S. contacts, including U.S. trade associations, as well as Indian and Sri Lankan food importers, retailers, and food processors. She broadly contributed to raising the profile of U.S food and beverage products in India and Sri Lanka by leading tabletop roadshows, retail promotions, and working with local industry associations to create high-quality exhibition spaces in Indian and international food and trade shows. One high-profile Sri Lankan activity was covered by over a dozen print and broadcast news outlets, and caught the attention of the U.S. Ambassador, who asked our office to keep up the good work and do more such activities in Sri Lanka.

Ms. Mishra is motivated, anxious to take on responsibility, has outstanding instincts, and requires almost no supervision. She was recognized as a talented and vital member of our team. She represented the highest standards of our organization and I was proud to call her my colleague.

During my time in the Foreign Agricultural Service I worked closely with Shubhi on several Cochran programs. I was truly amazed by her ability to identify trends on both an agricultural and economic level, facilitate meaningful relationships between the fellows and the producers and work tirelessly to advocate on behalf of the fellows with the various trainers to craft a meaningful itinerary. Her personable professionalism is a rare quality that many could learn from. I hope I have the opportunity to work with her again in the future!

It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Shubhi over the past four years, over which time we have delivered some of the largest UK to India food and drink projects to date. Her knowledge and network allow a simple concept discussion to be fine tuned as she can identify immediate issues and what steps need to be taken to address them and bring the right people to the table to execute the plan.

In my experience most people usually lean towards policy or commercial as a strength, but Shubhi excels at both. It is this capability and her friendly can do manner that really sets her apart. I wouldn’t consider entering the Indian food and drink market without engaging with Shubhi from the outset, not only will it save time, but it will also avoid mistakes.
